Founders

Lars-Åke Edgardh has more than 20 years of experience in system and database engineering and digital satellite photogrammetry. Since 1999 he has been Managing Director and lead system analyst for Spacemetric AB. Prior to his tenure at Spacemetric, Lars worked as a Project Manager and Senior System Engineer at the Swedish Space Corporation and Software Engineer at Philips Medical Systems.

Lars's education includes:

  • Licentiate in Photogrammetry from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden (1992)
  • Postgraduate studies in Relations & Marketing in SE Asia, Linköping University, Sweden (1985)
  • M.Sc. in Computer Science & Technology, Linköping University, Sweden (1985)

Torbjörn Westin is an internationally recognised expert in satellite photogrammetry. He also has significant expertise in software engineering, relational databases, and image processing software development. He has served as Spacemetric's Technical Director and Senior Photogrammetric Engineer since its founding in 1999. Before that, Torbjörn was Head of Product Development at the Swedish Space Corporation and Senior Geophysicist at LKAB Prospecting.

Torbjörn received the 1992 Talbert Abrams Award Grand Prize from the American Society for Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing, and the 1993 President's Prize from The Photogrammetric Society in London.

Torbjörn's education includes:

  • Ph.D. in Photogrammetry from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden (1992)
  • Licentiate in Photogrammetry from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden (1989)
  • M.Sc. from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden (1974)
