Onboard processing of hyperspectral imagery

Spacemetric is collaborating with OHB Sweden to demonstrate a hardware-in-the-loop simulation breadboard / flatsat satellite prototype encompassing the full value chain, from simulated sensor data, via onboard and distributed data processing, to onboard data selection for priority download.

The flatsat will be based on OHB Sweden’s INNOSAT satellite, Unibap’s CloudSpace radiation-hard platform, and Spacemetric’s Bluestone onboard image data processing technology. The resulting prototype will serve as a basis for a future satellite constellation with built-in flexibility thanks to its software-defined onboard capabilities being easily reconfigured from the ground.

The Hyperspectral On-board Processing and Exploitation (HOPE) project is led by OHB Sweden and financed by the Swedish National Space Agency.
